idk i saw Tabf5's hall and realized i have my own list of tech to add so uhhh enjoy
The Sony Walkman was a highlight of 80s culture that was made to allow people to listen to cassete tapes on the go. I got mine, spesifically the Sony Walkman Wm-ex10 (pictured), at a secondhand store for 25 dollars. Idk if this is a common issue but my tapes sound slightly pitched down than if they are played in my Emerson AK2755 tape player, which is why it was a tough choise deciding if it deserves to be here. But with the longstanding culteral impact of the 80s, i figured it was wrong not to include it haha
probbably the weirdest entry, but the vTech Thomas toy laptop whas a staple of my childhood. I loved Thomas the Tank Engine (and still do! I still watch the show), i had wooden railway trains, i had Thomas DVDs, it was awesome. I have a weird memory of where i was possibly mad so i took the thomas laptop and hid in my garage. Back to the laptop itself, it had a thomas cover, handle, mouse, and an overall nostalgic feel. i think it had over 20+ games you could play learning about letters numbers and music. I don't know what happened to it, it might have been donated when we moved, but I'll never forget the joy it brought me.
Nothing much to say lol it's just a good phone. Its my first personal phone and it's serving me well. It doesnt have games unlike the ATT Cingular Flip IV which i used to use, but honesty has a better interface ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The pansonic rx-dt610 is a portable stereo boombox. It had a dual cassete deck, am/fm radio, cd player, XBS, and 4-band equalizers. I have spent quite a few nights laying on my floor just listening to a cd. I got this as a late birthday present from my brother and i have used it since. I have yet to try out the Cassete decks (i'm not much of a tape listener anymore) and batteries, but it needs like 12 D batteries which sucks :P
IMO the best calculator i've had, the TI-30xs is a sientific calculator has too many features for my to count, but it has saved me from time. there is a way to do expressions, triganometry, and other stuff I can't name atm because I can't find mine but it's here somewhere. I also found a pink one and one with a yellow frame but i have a plain one :P
I know i know i can hear the screams already. "bUt AzUrE sUiTcAsE pLaYeRs ArE bAd FoR rEcOrDs" ik! but got mine over a year ago and none of my records have been destroyed. Where was I lol.
the victrola journy is a line of suitcase record players that are in the $40-90 range. There is also a Journy+ and a Journy II but i got the original. It has all the features a record player should have: 3 speed setting, bluetooth and aux-in, 45 rpm adaptor, etc.. While there are better ones i feel that if you are a beginner and don't have money, this is a decent record player. One day I'll get an upgrade don't worry :D
